If I would just know how to express my sympathetic feelings to all
the disciples who have been studying with Sri Chinmoy for such a long
time. (In your case for 30 years as you said).
In my case I am sometimes struggling with the word "gratitude." It
means I am too much in the mind. Your gratitude poems and Sri
Chinmoy's writings on gratitude (I read them all online) remind me to
aspire more and be more in the heart and become more receptive to the
inner messages our master is teaching us.
Because of your gratitude/creativity offerings I was drawn to Sri
Chinmoy's early European lecture series which were published between
1970-1974 called My Rose Petals. Not owing all parts I am ready to
read them online or perhaps I will print them out. http://www.srichinmoylibrary.com/search?SearchableText=My+Rose+Petals
I began reading My Rose Petals, Part 3. Already the first few lines
of the lecture with the title Failure moved me to tears and I had to
stop reading:
"It is said that the lecturer stands up, speaks up and shuts up. Here
the seeker in me is standing up in order to offer his divine love to
the audience. The seeker in me is speaking up in order to establish
spiritual oneness with the audience. And finally, the seeker in me
will shut up when he finds that he has established his inner oneness
with the aspiration of the audience."
Another way of increasing my gratitude to Guru is to sing his
gratitude songs. Thanks to the website Sri Chinmoy Songs there are
many of them available.
One of my favourite gratitude songs is Tomar Kripar which we sang to
Guru at celebrations in 2004. I have found that Sri Chinmoy's songs
enfold a special beauty when sung soulfuly together.
You were also so kind to offer us some innocent jokes. I thought the
following poems by Sri Chinmoy that were published in 1991 from My
Child, You And I Are In The Same Boat are very funny - almost like
jokes.
"My Lord,
Will You allow me
To be as good as You are?
Certainly.
Do you know why,
My child?
Why, my Lord?
Because,
If you become as good as I am,
Then I will be able
To enjoy My retirement,
Which I so desperately need."
Dear Kamalakanta,
At the risk of being over-present here I can't resist to thank you for
all your gratitude-offerings you are sharing with us.
I was so moved by your message #22924 "Gratitude and the mind's
forgetfulness."

I hope I could give back at least a little from your kind offerings
that helped me so much in my own spiritual life.
